Russians taking part in Ukraine operation will be able to keep their frozen sperm in 'cryobank': lawyer

A prominent Russian lawyer says that Russian soldiers called to fight in Ukraine will have the opportunity to freeze their sperm in a 'cryobank', a sperm bank, absolutely free.

The head of the "Russian Union of Lawyers" Igor Turunov told the Russian state news agency "Tass" that the Ministry of Health has done all this in response to his appeal for a free cryobank and a change to mandatory medical insurance.

It should be noted that Russia has also called a contingent of three hundred thousand reserve soldiers to duty after continuous failures in Ukraine.According to reports, after this announcement, male soldiers have started approaching the clinic to freeze their sperm. Igor Turunov announced on Twitter that his union is applying on behalf of several couples where the husband has been called up by the government for partial mobilization in Special Military Operations .It should be noted that Russia is calling its military action in Ukraine a special operation instead of a war.The Ministry of Health has not yet commented on Igor Turunov's remarks, and the lawyer told the BBC that his union would have to ask the department about the procedure for freezing sperm at the bank. .

Igor told TASS that the ministry is considering the possibility of financial support from the federal budget for the free preservation and storage of germ cells (spermatozoa) for citizens mobilized to participate in SVO for the years '2022-2024'.
