Afghanistan: The Taliban also banned women from working for NGOs

In Afghanistan, women's freedom has been further restricted after the Taliban banned them from working for non-governmental organizations (NGOs).The Islamist rulers said that the female employees of the NGO are violating Sharia by not wearing hijab.Earlier,

female students were banned from going to universities. This is the latest ban on women's education since the Taliban returned to power. If NGOs are now only allowed to employ men, it seems likely that Afghan women will be unable to receive direct aid.
